This is an intro to swing dancing. Swing dance is in fact a big family of dances developed in the 1920s–1940s during the swing era of jazz music. Nowadays, this style is reviving in US and Europe.

Each 4-class session begins on the first Friday of the month. We teach all the fundamentals of swing dance that enables you to dance socially.

The class is suitable for total beginners. It is not required to bring a partner (would be cool though). Come and have fun with us anyway!

Adult Dance Series

Intro to Tap
with Gregg Geoffroy
Sundays, 1:00-2:00p

This is the first step for the uninitiated, or the returning student who feels like they are essentially starting over. This course is a progressive 16-week program requiring prior registration. Past students may attend on a drop in or special "Intro to Tap 6-Class Card" basis with the approval of the instructor. It is the only class that does not permit casual drop-ins. Rudimentary technique and basic vocabulary (physical and musical) are developed through short, repetitive combinations to prepare students for beginning classes at any studio. Students can have no/little/or “faded” experience. There are no prerequisites.

PLEASE NOTE: This series requires a minimum of nine students to proceed. Unless you already have tap shoes, don’t buy them before taking the first couple of classes and/or having talked with Gregg. He will make recommendations and help you to decide. For the first class or two, you can wear any low-heeled, solid soled shoes (preferably lace up, or at least very snug). Rubber soles and heels are not recommended. Should you have additional questions, please contact Gregg: gregg.geoffroy@gmail.com
